Four Amazing Educator Audiobook Pinterest Boards

Categories: Education & Teaching, Uncategorized

LogoFor Teacher Appreciation Week 2017, Learning Ally held a PINtastic contest! Educators from across the nation submitted their ideas on how to use audiobooks for struggling readers in the classroom. It was difficult to choose, but in the end the following boards blew us away for their creative ideas and diversity of pins. Each teacher will receive a $500 gift card to spend on new classroom technology!

Winner: Mary Lu

6th Grade ELA teacher from Jackson-Milton Local Schools, Ohio  Mary Lu's board caught our eye with its 52 pins and topics including how to increase fluency using audiobooks to print-outs for classroom teachers. Check it out here.

Winner: Elizabeth Harrison

4th Grade teacher from Minneapolis Public Schools, Minnesota Elizabeth is a 4th grade teacher, but her board incorporates ideas for older grades as well. She shows a wide range of diversity including an idea of how to create a "literature circle" for a group activity. See her board here

Winner: Ashley Graves

Elementary teacher from West Carroll Parish, Louisiana Ashley has several engaging ideas, including a "battle of the books" March Madness type activity. Her board is here.

Winner: Elizabeth Hauser

High school special education teacher from Graylake Community High School District 127- Illinois Elizabeth used photos from her own high school resource classroom to show us how her students enjoy Learning Ally audiobooks while playing other word finding games. What great real-world insights! Her board is here. We are so excited to incorporate some of these ideas in classrooms across the nation to help struggling readers thrive!
