Download a book and sync to player

  1. Select your player, software or app on the left hand side of the screen.

  2. Individually select titles by moving the "Sync to..." button to "Yes" or sync all of your titles by checking the "Sync All Books" option.

  3. Click "Sync Now" to begin download process.

  4. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager will validate your player. If there is an error, then you will see an error such as in the below example:

    If this happens, you can either attach your player to the computer and click the “Autodetect Reader” button to try again, or you can just continue; your files will be downloaded to the location indicated. When your player is successfully detected, click on the "I'm Ready, Start Syncing" button.

  5. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager will display the progress of your download.

  6. You will be prompted with further instructions depending on the type of player you are using.

DAISY Hardware Player

  1. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager will prompt you to connect your device.

  2. Connect your device and click "I'm Ready to Start Syncing". 

  3. If you want to  download directly to your computer to sync at a later time click "Change Drive".

  4. Manually choose or change your reader's file save location.

  5. Click "I'm ready to start syncing". 

DAISY Software/Learning Ally ReadHear by gh

  1. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager confirms that the ReadHear software is installed on the computer. If you are using Learning Ally ReadHear by gh for PC, The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager will add the book to your software's library. Don't have ReadHear? Do you can download this software for free from your Learning Ally account.

  2. Files will be downloaded to the default location. You can change with “Change Drive”.

  3. After download, you can open your books using your software’s “open book” command.

  4. If you don’t know where the books are, you can use the “show book folder” command. 

Learning Ally Audio App for iOS*

  1. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager confirms that iTunes is installed on the computer.

  2. After download, you will be prompted to launch iTunes. Clicking the ”Launch iTunes” button will transfer the zip file of the book to your iOS deviceLearning Ally Audio App.

  3. Read instructions on transferring your book to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

Windows Media Player or Windows Media MP3 player

Windows Media Player:

  1. The Learning Ally Audiobook Manager confirms that Windows Media Player version 10 or higher is installed on the computer and will add the book to your Windows Media Player Album section.

  2. The books will be stored in the default folder location you set up during installation.

  3. Once you have synced a book to the player, click on the “Launch Windows Media Player” button to play your book in Windows Media Player.

  4. The license acquisition process will begin automatically the first time you try to play a book in Windows Media Player. A screen will pop up prompting you to get the license. You may need to provide your Learning Ally account login and password to do this.

Syncing files directly to your computer

  1. From Settings, choose "Manage Files Yourself"

  2. Your files will be saved to the default location you indicated when you set up the manual transfer player. If you want to change that location now, click "Change Drive".

  3. Click "I'm ready to start syncing".
