Volunteer Bob Rosen’s Story Featured in The Berkshire Eagle

Photo of volunteer Bob RosenBob Rosen, a former trial lawyer, described his interesting and rewarding experiences as a volunteer at the Lenox studio in an article published by The Berkshire Eagle. Once speaking before a jury, Rosen is now speaking in front of a microphone, recording audiobooks for struggling readers.

Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party

The Lenox studio is holding its annual volunteer appreciation party on Thursday, August 18 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the home of longtime volunteer Duncan McQueen. Food and drinks will be provided and volunteers may bring dessert!

Recognizing a Long-Time Volunteer

Victor Hill celebrates his 40 years of reading for the Williamstown StudioVictor Hill, professor emeritus of mathematics at Williams College, was recognized for his forty years of reading for Learning Ally, formerly RFB&D, at a garden party in Williamstown, MA on May 9th. The gathering was attended by 35 present and former volunteers, as well as by former Studio Director Gail Burns and present Production Director Jennifer Golin of the Lenox studio.

Different Ways to Read Across America: 2011 Record-A-Thon

Record-A-Thon LogoDuring Record-A-Thon week, students and educators from local high schools and colleges came to show their support for the Lenox Studio. Tracy Benson, principal of Pittsfield High School visited as a guest reader. Mary Marcy, Provost of Bard College at Simons Rock and two Simons Rock students also visited during Record-A-Thon week. The two students, Ramiz Shaikh and Jared Weiss are also regular Lenox volunteers, who typically read Spanish and algebra material respectively.
