Local Uno Restaurant Donates Proceeds to Learning Ally

With a play on words, the “Uno Doughraiser” was the buzz at the Boston studio. Flyers were posted and special tickets were distributed to board members and volunteers who were asked to share them with friends, family and neighbors.

Upgrades to Benefit Our Members

The Boston studio is being upgraded as part of a national project to prepare for the production of new products at Learning Ally! Technicians from headquarters will remove the current computers, monitors and microphones from all ten booths and replace them with brand new recording equipment. The most obvious change will be the new flat, wide-screen display monitors, which will be more appropriate for recording sessions that involve reading from the screen instead of from a hardcopy book.

Different Ways to Read Across America: 2011 Record-A-Thon

Record-A-Thon LogoDuring the 2011 Record-A-Thon, the Boston Studio volunteers and guest readers read 9,819 pages in 700 volunteer hours during 350 recording sessions. Seventeen books were completed and 9 books were partially completed. These numbers are double what the Boston Studio sees in an average week.

Volunteer Recognition Party

The Boston studio held its annual volunteer appreciation event on October 25th, where a strong turnout of volunteers gathered to celebrate the 2,553,074 hours donated since its establishment in 1985!
