Students in Florida Schools Are Learning to Love Reading

pnj story 1 Thanks to a $1.14 million grant by the Florida Department of Education, many public and charter schools throughout the state are improving their students' academic success with help from Learning Ally. There are approximately 5,500 students with learning or visual disabilities in 800 schools across Florida who are using Learning Ally. Mary Jo Chandler, a special education teacher at Oriole Beach Elementary school, has been seeing particularly good results with her students. She says:
"I had a fifth-grader who used the program extensively. She was severely dyslexic and was able to read all of the books in the Percy Jackson series. This student's letter-reversal, reading level and spelling skills all improved dramatically. It was really exciting to see that."
