Purpose of the Position: Working in a team environment and in conjunction with the National Sales Manager, Education Solutions, the ISR is responsible for achieving sales and revenue quotas for an assigned territory (that may have little to no footprint) by creating a plan, conducting research, generating interest through prospecting activities and sales lead follow up to build an opportunity pipeline that effectively closes sales to achieve sales quota.

Primary Position Objectives:

  • In conjunction with Sales Manager create strategies and account plans that represent the ability to achieve the annual sales goal through research, prospecting, identifying upsell opportunities and building a pipeline 3X quota.
  • Independently schedule and conduct a minimum of 50 phone calls per day and other sales activities to meet quotas.
  • Following the defined sales process and active listening, provide relevant solutions to existing and prospective customers understanding their needs and requirements. Strong understanding of eligibility requirements and alignment of LA solutions with reading programs. Emphasize benefits and service features to generate interest.
  • Working in conjunction with School and Student Success (SASS) partner, and Director of Sales, identify existing accounts that are opportunities for upsell and create and implement a strategy to secure the upsell.
  • Enhance Learning Ally’s reputation by always maintaining professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to portray Learning Ally in a positive manner.
  • Maintain relationships and develop new opportunities with existing customers by following up on all incoming calls and leads to ensure every customer opportunity is given professional and proper attention with our products and services fully explained in order to generate revenue growth.
  • Fully understand pricing packages, products and services with the ability to create a proposal based on customer needs.
  • Perform effective on-line demos to prospects.
  • Capture all customer information and activity within the CRM (NetSuite) system.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of market competitors; their pricing, products and services and use this knowledge to overcome objections and advise on the benefits of Learning Ally products and services.
  • Participate in meetings; being prepared to share successes, objections and solutions and provide recommendations regarding improvement to sales and retention tools and processes.
  • Foster a working environment that supports Learning Ally’s cultural values. Act as a role model and engage in discussions and feedback to ensure the intent of the culture statement is integrated into day-to-day activities, planning and communications.
  • Participate in other Learning Ally activities as required to achieve organizational goals.

Job Requirements


College degree, BA preferred

Work experience

  • Proven educational sales/Telesales experience required, true hunter
  • Minimum of 2-3 years proven inside sales/telesales experience with a minimum $500K annual quota

Specific Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrated record of success in a goal oriented, highly accountable environment
  • Experience selling reading programs is desired
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of call per day
  • Proficient with web-based presentation tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong work ethic a must
  • Positive attitude with high energy and self confidence
  • Ability, drive and motivation to close sales and meet or exceed sales goals
  • Proven effectiveness in successful sales and cold calling (minimum of 50 to 75 dials per day)
